It was an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar building; Titus was certain it did not truly belong to the usurper, but that was all he knew. Growing up, he'd rarely been permitted beyond the borders of his own family's palatial estate, and now... he would probably never be able to return. Even if he did, it was now full of unfamiliar people--his family's holdings, too, had been taken over and occupied by the enemy. And he himself had been chosen. Those henchmen had brought him here, stripped off his clothes, tied him down, and left him for their loathsome leader... of course, Titus had fought them viciously, but they'd had humiliatingly little difficulty subduing him.

Since then, he had stretched and twisted and struggled with all his might against the leather bonds, desperately trying to escape, but all he'd managed to do was exhaust himself. His arms ached, and angry, frightened tears stung the corners of his eyes.
